As watchman we can only synchronize our sound with God`s sound if we know his prophetic intent. “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Do we know his will?
When we lack an expanded or elevated vision, our perceptions of God’s operation become limited and boundaries are placed around our vision. “Go to the land I will show you” Gen. 12:1; Lift up your eyes where you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.” (Gen. 13:14). The possibility of Abraham receiving God’s promises, was for him to have an elevated vision, ( “Lift up your eyes from where you are and look”) within his assigned territory, constituency, sphere etc. God was saying, don’t allow prevailing circumstances to shape your vision of what I am doing or where I am taking you, my church and the nations, have an accurate sight of what is happening. Don’t limit me to your conditions and the present situations of the earth. We see chaos, crisis, challenges, violence, sin of all types, we tend to respond like Habakkuk “How long, O LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “violence” but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevail the wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted. Habakkuk 1:2-4. Because of his inaccurate vision, he cried out for God`s intervention against the violence, injustice and prevailing wickedness; little did he know that the Lord was orchestrating his divine plan. Is this not our attitude and respond to what is happening around us. In many places people are magnifying evil more than God, the devils agenda more than God`s agenda. Is it not said in his word “…for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations” (Psalms 22:28 NIV). We need to allow God to fine tune us to his divine frequency, and then, this will enable us to give the right sound. Our spirit must be trained to hear the voice of God clearly and know how to interpret what we hear accurately, because there are many different confusing sounds. ” The sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.” (Isaiah 50:4-5)
It is stated in the word that the knowledge of his glory will fill the earth. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk. 2:14NIV). This is an end time promise. He commands us in (Isaiah 61:1-2) to arise out of the midst of the darkness into his glory. As watchman, the conditions of the earth should not define us, but the word of God.
Habakkuk found himself in a depressing situation with little or no hope, until the Lord rebuked him and told him to change his attitude and position. ‘Look among the nations and watch.’ (Habakkuk 1:5 NIV). He realized he had to adjust to the will of God, he took a new position. To perceive what God is doing, we need an elevated vision and an understanding of his operations amongst man. It is important that we approach God base on his sovereignty, engaging him to understand his agenda concerning end time events and things happening in the earth. That was what Habakkuk resolved to; God’s sovereignty. (Habakkuk 3:17-19) It is time we prepare ourselves, for the demand is increasing as the whole world is going through a dramatic change.
Our operating environment should be his sovereignty; “…he alone has all wisdom and all power. World events are under his control. He removes Kings and sets others on their thrones. He gives wise men their wisdom, and scholars their intelligence. He reveals profound mysteries beyond man’s understanding. He knows all hidden things for he is light, and darkness is no obstacle to him.” (Daniel 2: 21-22) Daniel was a watchman of his time, so he could discern the times and seasons of God. It is the Lord who assigns us; he positions us on the walls. We did not take it upon ourselves, he position us to partner with him. Our assignment and agenda is not dictated by what is happening around us, but by God’s discerned will and agenda. In spite of what was happening in Daniel’s time, God still reveal the future to him, showing that he is in control of the future. Our sound should be calibrated by the spirit of God, to synchronize with his sound. The powerful existence of the church in the earth depends on the connecting prayer efforts and declarations of God`s watchmen on the walls; who are commissioned with a purpose. ”For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remind quiet…I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and make her the praise of the earth.” The watchmen mentioned in Isaiah 62:1, 6, 7 will not keep silent and will give him no rest until his promises are fulfilled. Our prayer must synchronize with his agenda. Rev. 8:3-5
We should continuously make mention of the Lord. “Make mention” in the King James Version is the Hebrew word “Zachar” which means to bring strongly to mind; to write down, record or mark so as not to forget; to keep constantly in mind.
What are we bringing to mind, what are we writing,
What are we recording or marking so as not to forget,
What we keeping constantly in mind,
Our prayers have an effect on his plans, God’s will is not automatic; he accomplishes his will through our prayers. ” We ask that your kingdom will come now. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10 TLB) This scripture is an indication that God’s watchmen are aware of his will, they already have a clear perception and a sense of assigned responsibility. They are prepared to take care of things in the earth and are able to maintain persistency in the midst of the crisis and keep focus on God`s purpose. We are to give him no rest until his discerned ordained purpose come to pass. Only that which he has purposed will come to pass. (Isa. 14:24-27).
He is positioning us on our watch (what is your assigned area of watch?) what are you seeing, what are you hearing? “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.” (Ezekiel3:17) What are you sounding? Give yourself no rest and give him no rest.
